We are happy to announce that we are working on Web.Maps.VE v2.0, and plan to release it by the end of June 2008.
Here's a list of a couple of the major features coming in Web.Maps.VE v2.0:
No More Dependancy on the AjaxControlToolkit!
In v2.0 we are breaking free of the AjaxControlToolkit by re-architecting it to get rid of the dependency.
ShapyLayer Support Will Be Added!
In v2.0 we are redesigning the way that Shape collections work, and will be supporting Shape Layers via the new ShapeLayer class and Map.Layers property.
Better VE 3D Support!
In v2.0 we are adding better support for the Virtual Earth functionality surrounding the 3D map view. For example, we are adding Altitude and AltitudeMode properties to the Shape and LatLong objects.
VECustomIconSpecificiation Object Support!
We are changing the way you specify the look of your Shape icons by adding support to for the VECustomIconSpecification object. This gives you better support for customizing the look of your Shape Icons, and will also enable the custom icons to be displayed in 3D map view.
Also, Web.Maps.VE v2.0 will only target .NET 3.5.
Well, that's all I can say about what's coming in Web.Maps.VE v2.0. More information will be announced when we get closer to the release date.
